The Altar Guild, a tradition of the Church is responsible for the preparation and clean-up for all services.
1.The Altar Guild cares of the furnishings, vessels, and provides wine and bread for services.
2.They and see that appropriate hangings are in place and candles are ready to be used.
3.They care for the silver, brass, hangings and linens used in worship.
ACOLYTES
1.Acolytes play an important role in the life of the church.
2.The acolyte program is open to all who are 10 years of age and above.
3.Acolytes help lead worship by having a part in processions.
4.Acolytes help make the table ready for Eucharist and assist the priest.
ST. PHILIP'S HANDBELL CHOIR
Founded in 1985, the Bell Choir of St. Philip's began with a borrowed set of two octaves, however in a short time enough funds were raised to purchase our own bells.
1.Currently, St. Philip's has one adult bell choir.
2.They meet for practice from August until April.
3.Christmas, Easter, Vineyard Fundraisers (Chocolate and Chimes), make up their annual itinerary.
4.No bell experience or reading of music is required.
5.If you can count, you can ring, there are no auditions or pressure, just a lot of fun!
THE VINEYARD
St. Philip's is an active participant in the Vineyard, an ecumenical outreach of churches in Beeville and Bee County. The Vineyard provides food, clothing, shelter, substantial financial assistance and more to those in need in our community.
